This book is impossible to order through Amazon.com but it’s avalible through amazon.co.uk for only $$$ and arrives within a week and thats coming from the UK – international shipping is only a few dollars extra than UK shipping so for everyone out there having trouble with Amazon.com shipping this book order through Amazon.co.uk and save yourself $$$ for doing so!! This book is expensive on Amazon.com because it’s an international title. A great book I lost 70lbs in 5 months on this diet – It’s GREAT!!

Knew all the basics anyway.. and then you get lost in the technical language… waste of time trying to interpret it. I gave it to the Goodwill.

Probably a great diet, but not what I was looking for. Didn’t even recognize some of the foods on the list.

“Bad Information, Waste of Money” is an unfair review. I’m quite familiar with the 80’s low-fat mentality, and these diets don’t inhibit but encourage the use of wheats (whole wheat bread is supposedly a great choice), dairy (skim milk), and honey. The major criticism of low-fat diets are that is actually contributed to America being overweight. Let’s take skim milk for example, as it was increasingly touted as “healthy” milk, people inadvertently increased their consumption of sugar — in order to make this milk palatable, the fat is removed and sugar is added. Or let’s take a famous brand that made good on the low-fat craze, the SnackWells company, which produced packaged cookies and snacks just for the low-fat crowd. These items are highly processed, and either contain sugar or artificial sweetener, and most certain contain wheat. All of them.
So, people that are trying to eat low-fat diets are actually consuming more sugar and toxins. And what is the body’s reaction to toxin? It wraps it in fat and stores it in fat tissue in order to protect the digestive tract from being damaged.
Of course, I don’t think The Waterfall Diet closes the book on the perfect diet, but it is very important to note that many Americans have food intolerances that they are not aware of…and never would be, until they eliminate them and see their body react positively. The False Fat Diet also addresses this, and I believe both these books make a significant contribution to diet-methodology. Though I agree that soy is not a health food, THE STANDARD AMERICAN DIET is MEASURABLY improved by the application of the principles of this book.
