I’m from Bakersfield also, and just happened to see this video the same day that I went to the Lap-Band Seminar at Bariatric Solutions. They played it again during the Seminar, and I was so surprised to see it! This video and you are the reason I’ve chosen Dr. Naik for my consultation, and I am very inspired by your story!

So happy for you. The expression on your face as you progressed was the best part. No one knows how hard it is to be obese unless they have been there.
Enjoy your new found energy, health, and self-esteem.

I know what Hookah is. It’s ignorant to think that doesn’t cause harm just like smoking cigarettes. It’s ignorant to think it isn’t addictive. Smoking is obviously a large part of this guy’s life and identity. Too bad.

genxchick December 31, 2009 at 3:29 AM

It appears that he and his friend are smoking from a hookah, something that’s growing in popularity as a purely recreational activity at bars. Just because you might go to a bar and have a few drinks with friends occasionally, does not mean you’re an alcoholic who’s going to die from cirrhosis of the liver. So ignorant, your post!

hello my name is lisa and i am soon gonna be a lapband user

luisamapacha December 31, 2009 at 5:21 AM

I guess you’d rather die from lung cancer than a heart attack? I don’t know why a person would take such major steps toward being healthy, then smoke like that. Sad. Good luck to you – I hope you can quit.
