Gastric Bypass Before and After Pictures

by on 2010/03/07

A lot of folks have been asking about my wife. Here she is. The deal she made was she would not share pics/videos with anyone until her year mark (7/13/08) or she reached her goal weight. (180lbs) GOAL WEIGHT REACHED! 180lbs and STILL GOING! She has lost 155lbs in less than a year. OUTSTANDING! Rebecca has inspired me more than she will ever know! Song is "Suddenly I see." by KT Tunstall (Devil wears Prada soundtrack) I hope you enjoy, please comment and I will share with her!

@bigislander72 haha I personally don’t think there should be a reason for gastric bypass, what happened to self control?

marienora March 7, 2010 at 8:09 PM

You are so right…..you can gain it all back with GBP as well but the odds are much better than the other way at maintaining your weight loss with GBP. Jared must be one of the fewer than 5%. Yes, it can be done but the odds arent really with the person especially if they are morbidly obese,

bigislander72 March 7, 2010 at 9:08 PM

@marienora Sometimes happens with the Gastric Bypass too. The stomach stretches to accomidate more food.

Has to be lifestyle change vs. crash diet to be permanent. Lots of people keep it off longer than 5 years. I think Jared from Subway is going strong.

Yep…and fast forward 5 years after they take it off “the old fashioned way” and over 95% of them will have gained it all back plus more.

In response to bigislander72:

To each their own.

My grandmother professes to have walked to school everyday in the snow 12 miles each way. Does that mean I should make my kids walk to school today? The old fashioned way works for some and not for others. It’s probably not for you to get the idea,. but what’s interesting is how you came to watch this video with the rest of us…and you had the gall to bring judgement to the table–go relax! Way to go Becky!

Probably for the best. I never got the idea of gastric bypass surgery. Its a serious proceedure with risks, and all it does from what i understand it make it more difficult to gorge yourself with food.

Diet and exercise really does work people. I have known quite a few folks in my gym who have lost 100 pounds…the old fashoined way.
