@tankparksalute

call around to your Health food stores in your area, they can order the Young coconuts for you

liferegenerator March 8, 2010 at 8:47 PM

Those are mature coconuts and they are fine…

tankparksalute March 8, 2010 at 9:28 PM

Dan, I was looking at coconuts in the supermarket the other day. The coconuts they had were out of that white skin, and I think, from past experience, they don’t have much water in them, and the meat is hard. Are they any good?

PS keep up the awesome work!

you are the bomb Dan……peace

Hi there, is your stomach still hurting? I wasn’t able to write you back on your profile…

As for raw eggs you may eat whatever you want to, it is not up to me! Although I don’t have a preference for eggs personally…

Listen to your body and experiment and you will find what works for you.

saltfan2 March 9, 2010 at 12:08 AM

Is it ok if i eat rav eggs? Those coconuts looks wierd..

I like to use more than just the juice, which means I need more than a hole in the coconut :)

I remember finding somewhere online some instructions that led me to discover that each coconut actually has a seam, like a weak area, that will create a lid you can split open or off. It’s a matter of cleaving in just the right spot to split along the “lid” seam. Then it’s pretty easy to just pull the lid open and access the meat. Google it.

I have heard a lot of people say that but i have used pink water lots of times and it’s fine. I have always tasted my coco water before I use it, just a sip, and the best way to tell is by doing this – if it’s sour instead of sweet, it’s no good. if it’s sweet, you are good to go. no worries . Pink just means it’s really, really young. as it gets older the meat gets firmer and the water gets more and more milky.

liferegenerator March 9, 2010 at 1:54 AM

It should be sweet and taste great…I think you got a bammer coconut…it happens sometimes..make sure they are nice and cold

jhardknox March 9, 2010 at 2:12 AM

Question about taste

I had my first young coconut yesterday. First coconut ever. Dan just said he was naked out in the woods. lol. Anyway, I didn’t think it would taste the way it did. It was nutty and slightly bitter. It had like a bit of a tequila taste to it. Is that the standard for coconut water? Or did I just get a funky coconut this time around? I’ll be back at the store soon and get another, but wanted to see how you all describe the taste of the young coconuts. Thanks all.

As a girl (LOL) I had a heck of a time opening those dang coconuts ’till I bought a meat cleaver (clerk at store: “Your husband must be in trouble”). Now it’s easy! I can do it the “manly” way now, ha ha and it’s very easy!

beefree1 March 9, 2010 at 3:39 AM

I never use coconuts with my smoothies, thank you for converting me, makes perfect sense. Off to the store to get some. Smoothie cheers :) Yes..chew Not…chug smoothies.

liferegenerator March 9, 2010 at 3:55 AM

Not “organic” but good enough…:)

DiDie43 March 9, 2010 at 4:19 AM

Are the coconuts from the Asain markets you go to organic? The ones in Canada are not .They come from Thailand.

StarFlower99654 March 9, 2010 at 4:58 AM

Oh wow, I pay 4.99 a coconut at the only place that carries young coconuts in Alaska. But likeyou said, its worth my health so I dont mind. Great vid, Thanks Dan.

liferegenerator March 9, 2010 at 5:20 AM

Will look for some pictures when I visit my parents house and see what I can find. I was not digital back then. Become unreal yourself!!! Love, Dan

muthashipconxon March 9, 2010 at 5:22 AM

Thanks for the info.

This was a few days ago, and I did use it. I mixed it with a fresh juice of carrots, cucumber, and apple. It kind of tasted like the way I remember a glazed donut used to taste (haven’t had one in years). I figured the worst that would happen is I’d vomit, but nothing really happened. I’ll just be sure to use them in a timely fashion.

canadianwargod March 9, 2010 at 6:03 AM

hey Dan! I thought it would be cool for you to do a before and after video. Just kinda show some pictures of Dan the bodybuilder back in the day compared to now. You look so healthy now, it’s unreal. Take care!

canadianwargod March 9, 2010 at 6:07 AM

pink water means the coconut has gone bad. I wouldn’t use it.

muthashipconxon March 9, 2010 at 6:37 AM

Hey man, I love the vids. Keep ‘em comin’!

Got a coconut question here. Ever opened one up and had the water be pinkish? Is that natural? It almost looked like pink lemonade. Just a bit of a pinkish hue to it. I had this coconut in my fridge for a week, so maybe that factored into it?

Peace.

notroubleatall March 9, 2010 at 7:22 AM

Holy cow. I need to find an Asian market. I pay $4.50 per coconut at Whole Foods. Of course Ohio isn’t exactly the easiest place to obtain tropical fruits, but still.

I open my coconuts with a big chef’s knife, but I want to get a machete after seeing you open them so easily with yours.

I like to sweat too. It feels very detoxifying.
